Pipe Organs - a Short Look

The pipe organ is a extraordinary & amusing instrument. It may possess 1 or several keyboards controlled by the hands, and a pedal board played by the feet, each of which has its own group of stops. The organ’s sustained supply of wind permits it to prolong notes for as long as the matching keys are pushed, unlike the piano and harpsichord, the notes of which commence to decline the longer the notes are sustained. Pipes are organized into reed pipes and flue pipes corresponding to the type and timbre. Flue pipes produce sound by thrusting air through a fipple, whereas reed pipes create sound using a beating reed. The natural sounds the pipe organ creates permits it to be used for many unique things. The deficiency of definition between the notes entails that it is very difficult to play quick paced music.

Over the years the pipe organ has had improvements, and had numerous different variations. Organ music is magical; even a inexperienced, elementary listeners can be exhilarated by the complexity of sounds from a true organ just as one would favor a live band to a recording. At Present, popular digital organs have processor hardware inside a console to produce tones whereas virtual organs access samples of real organ tones saved on a computer. Pan pipes are believed to be the root of the organ. Organ music has been an significant function in music and it has influenced numerous musicians. The tone from the organ makes the auditor relaxed. These organs are primarily used in Christian services. These Pipe organs are deemed as church organs.

An interesting pipe organ is actually produced out of a natural origin! The Great Stalacpipe Organ it is based in the Luray Canons of Virginia. It is utilized by striking covered hammers across the stalactites.
As the demand for these have grown through the years, so has the way a pipe organ builder continues to build organs to serve our demands.

We hope this is useful for you. Note: we also write articles about nonprofit marketing.

A Look at the History of the Chocolate Tempering Machine

When lightweight chocolate tempering machines were yet to be invented, chocolate enthusiasts could temper their chocolates only with the manual methods of tempering called tabliering and seeding. Chocolate was melted in double boilers or the microwave, and temperatures were monitored via regularly-regulated thermometers.

These manual methods were very difficult and beginners were always unsure of the results of their tempering efforts. The only tempering machines available then took up much space and worked only with hundreds of pounds of chocolate at a time, so they were mainly used by big chocolate manufacturers.

When Skip Snyder, a computer specialist from Poughkeepsie, invented the tabletop tempering machine, these hobbyists and homemakers welcome this new development, particularly as it assured them of having ideally tempered chocolate candies all the time.

Snyder’s main aim was to develop the temperature control capability of his new invention because temperatures ruled the tempering process. If temperatures varied, the production of type V crystals is obstructed and chocolates don’t become crisp, creamy, and glossy. It is the fatty acids of the cocoa butter that crystallize into six different crystal formations at six particular temperatures. The other crystals can be controlled only by maintaining accurately the specific temperature that stimulates the proliferation of the type V crystals.

Snyder took a few months developing his gadget but in 1996, his Sinsation Chocolate Maker was put on sale as a “kitchen appliance”. Initially, the Sinsation was traded by a company called Chandre LLC where Snyder was Chairman. Indrotronix International, an infotech outfit, ventured $1 million in Chandre LLC to underwrite the production and marketing of the product. Chandre chose the mail order route in selling the tempering machine while advertisements were limited to culinary and chocolate print publications.

In 2000, ChocoVision took over the sales of the Sinsation, integrating it into their Revolation array of products and renaming it as the “New Sinsation”. Indrotronix still appeared hold a stake in this new undertaking.

Initially the New Sinsation was sold by ChocoVision online, especially via eBay. Later ChocoVision expanded their marketing campaign to include trade shows and industry expos, including a major sponsorship in the 2006 World and National Pastry Competitions.

The Revolation has become available in other countries also, being marketed internationally through retailers and other distribution channels. Most professional chocolatiers and a few restaurants and coffee shops have the tempering machine in their kitchens as well.

A Basic Primer on Website Banners

Web banners online commonly come in two formats. First of all, you have the conventional advertising banner, usually utilized as a means to drive traffic to a website, as clicking on the banner takes one to the promoted site. The second form of banner is discovered at the very top of an average website - the site header. This area usually familiarizes a user to the site with a main title, perhaps a strapline, and of course imagery to aid in theming the site. Advertising and website header banners play fundamental purposes in both delivering traffic to a website, and making a site “sticky” - by teaching them plainly with the definitive premise of the site, and influencing the individual to browse the website more, utilizing compelling graphics and strapline text.

How to make banners in the first place? There are plenty of web services which can help you with this project. Not only that but many also provide you with banner hosting as well. Simply enter some words like web banners into Google and you will find plenty of online services.

What form of information to put in your banner? If you have a shopping website, it’s a good idea to place the payment gateways your website utilizes for processing payments, as it gives individuals a visible hint that you’re selling items and also lets the visitor know how items can be bought on your site. Place some pictures of the products you are selling as well, as this is a further visual clue as to which kind of products you sell. Lastly, the strap line phrase is important too. Make sure the strapline distinctly and concisely says what the website is about in just four or five words.

As transparent as all this may be, an error numerous sites make is to assume every website visitor will know such information before-hand. One can’t take for granted that every visitant knows such info, so one needs to hold every visitor’s hand in the precious first couple of seconds they visit your site.

On Modernism and Modern Artists from Cuba

Cuban art is a distinct ethnical fusion of American, African and European visual design showing the multiethnic population make-up of Cuba. Cuban creatives adopted European modernism and the early part of the 20th century witnessed a growth in Cuban vanguardism movements; these movements were characterized by a diversity of modern artistic styles. Some of the more celebrated 20th century Cuban artists were likely to hail from the early 1900s (for example Amelia Pelez).

Perhaps the most illustrious artwork (of sorts) to be produced in Cuba was THAT picture of Che Guevara (photograph by Alberto Korda) which was to become possibly one of the most recognizable images of the past century.

The native Cuban art cause gathered momentum following the opening of the the art academy (San Alejandro) back in 1818, which was built to meet the European predilection of the middle class population of Cuba. In the late 19th century, landscape paintings dominated the art movement of Cuba and classicism was still the style of choice. Nonetheless, the Vanguardia Cuban contemporary artist of the late 1920s had rejected the theoretical formulas of the national art academy of Cuba. In their early years, many artists had resided in Paris, where they learned and engaged in the rules of surrealism, cubism, and modernist primitivism. They returned to Cuba committed to innovative artistic styles and were keen to mix this new aesthetic leaning with a Cuban twist. The pioneering artists achieved international recognition in 2003 with the Modern Cuban Painting show at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. These kinds of art styles are now popular via canvas art prints decorated on walls worldwide.

The Game of Life

When your life becomes unbearable
And the light of promise ceases to glow,
When all your dreams and aspirations
Lie dormant on ambition’s death row.

When you feel that all is hopeless,
Life troubles just seem to abound.
When those you thought were supporters
Are suddenly nowhere to be found;

When weary from the struggle of trying
And you wonder to yourself, “What’s the use?”
You fight on to do the best that you can
But once again, all hell breaks loose.

When things in your life become disjointed
And everything you touch turns stale.
When nerves are on edge from life’s pressures,
And there’s no breath with which to exhale.

When the road you are traveling gets bumpy
And the hills become harder to climb,
When the going gets tougher and tougher
And persist for a considerably long time.

Remember, it’s not what you expect from life,
But rather, what life expects from you.
When the wind of quandary blows your way,
Life wants to see just how well you’ll do.

You see, life is really like playing a game.
To win, you must play as it dictates.
If you follow its built-in survival rules,
Your troubles will miraculously dissipate.

So when you near the end of your rope
When your back is pressed to the wall.
When you’re trapped all around by conditions
And you can scarcely move around at all.

Don’t give up and wave surrender’s flag.
Don’t succumb to the goads of strife.
Don’t hang your head in resignation,
Don’t stop playing this game called life.

Just confront your troubles head on;
Face them all in prayer one by one.
You’ll learn after a long or short while
The game of life can surely be won.

For your power will suddenly increase;
Your strength to fight on, He’ll renew.
God will not forsake His own blessed child;
He cannot and will not fail you.

Three Poems: Dona Leonor’s Revenge; The Old Moon; Common Sides [All in Spanish/all in English]

1) Doa Leonor’s Revenge
[1627 AD]

Rafael Ortiz’s fate
Was on the plate
Of Doa Leonor’s

When she arrived
In Lima, Peru;
To taste revenge

For the beheading
Of her husband.
And so the plot

…was now played out
(in an alleyway)
As she gutted her trout!

In Spanish

Translated by Nancy Penaloza

La leyenda de:
La venganza de doa Leonor
(1627 después de cristo)

El destino de Rafael Ortiz
Estaba sobre el plato
De doa Leonor.

Cuando ella lleg
A Lima Per;
Para saborear la venganza

Por la decapitacin
De su esposo.
Y entonces el complot

Fue llevado a su fin ahora
(En un callejn)
Como ella destrip su trucha!

2) The Old Moon

The winds, the windsmoments pass
Pass into years, years and more years
And the moon continues to make light
Upon me, with eerie fearless nights…

Under its passing shadows at twilight
She stands alone, looking into my eyes;
At dusk, we linger on, down the path
Like live sphinxes…she follows me:

Looking, looking down, down at me….

There is a time between now and then
I call it forever…and soon…
But that’s between me and you
Me, and you and the twilight moon.

She has her secret eyes you know
Blinking across sky and meadow
Passing, passing soundlessly…by…
Blinking across meadow and sky!…

#474 2/5/2005

Spanish Version

La Luna Vieja
[The Old Moon]

Los vientos, los vientosmomentos pasan
Pasan convirtiéndose en aos, aos y ms aos
Y la luna contina produciendo luz
Sobre mi y espeluznantes noches intrépidas…

Bajo sus pasajeras sombras en el crepsculo
Ella est sola, mirando en mis ojos;
Al anochecer, nos rezagamos, a lo largo del camino
Como una esfinge viva…ella me sigue:

Mirando, mirando abajo, mirndome a m…

Hay un tiempo entre ahora y entonces
Llamo a esto para siempre…y pronto…
Pero esto es entre mi y t

3) Common Sides [English Versin]

Youth has its age
And age its pride;
One thinks he knows
The other thinks why;
But youth and age

With separate ties
Have common sides:

Life, death, and quest,
And a hope chest
That never rests.

La juventud tiene su edad
Y edad su orgullo;

Y una esperanza en el pecho

Estos nunca descansan.
