A Chicago Weddings Wish

Could you fancy investing the expense required for an event wedding without doing it up right? Permit me to share with you the Boyd family’s fanciful wedding tradition. Perhaps if you’ve ever visited around here you’re already familiar; we have a proud tradition of throwing incredible wedding events.

We eat, breathe and fantasize about weddings. Our usual company include wedding designers, caterers, chefs and bands. My Uncle Theodore is a talented wedding singer songwriter and violinist–there’s nobody better! Recently I have relentlessly searched the best of wedding planners including some Chicago weddings sites. It goes without saying that I was raised planning weddings. As a remarkable Chicago wedding planner without a minute to spare, I am happy to be working for myself, planning my luxury wedding with a little insight from my colleagues. But that’s not all, I am deliriously in love. Some might declare I’ve been taken off my feet by love!

My mom, luxury wedding photographer friend and I, are party planners and total girlfriends. She is completely supportive of me and my adorable Chris. A few days ago, we busted out the 1980s stills of my mom’s horrifically tacky Dallas wedding. Good times hilarious, but fashions change. Can you find the an example about good form in there somewhere.

I’m so excited for my wedding. Grandfather is so generous to be taking care of all the reservations, and all our friends and family will be at perhaps the most luxurious Chicago wedding reception halls! I can’t share the when and where cause I don’t want any wedding crashers. In addition my future husband is a successful lawyer and informed me he hooked us up for the wedding reception. It’s a surprise. I’m sure it is going to blow our minds! We know that’s what a luxury wedding is most essentially about. The luxury of living.

All the Best,

Christy

Hollywood and Fashion Cross-Sell the Media World

In a world where individuals can be famous just for “being famous”, we are have formally become a culture obsessed with fame and celebrities. This obsession has even gone beyond the tabloid news media that harassed celebrities of the past and has in the recent past moved from a cheap guilty pleasure to a viable and socially acknowledged form of pastime. It is this enchantment that has led to rather ingenious marketing schemes where designers give famous people their apparel and accessories in hopes that they will be photographed wearing the items and making the brand popular with the fans. One of the largest beneficiaries of marketing in the manner is the designer glasses industry, with Versace leading the pack.

Hollywood mania, though in a different incarnation than in years past, is as old as Hollywood itself. And people have always been curious as to what the glamour gods wear, shooting certain brands into the stratosphere with the very people who wear it. A brand made popular by elegant starlets and leading men alike, Versace certainly among those in that stratosphere. And with Versace eyeglasses, people are able to easily see the brand and have instant acknowledgement of it since glasses are almost always the first (and often the only) accessory that people see when talking face-to-face. Now with online retailers that offer the brand, with its many styles, at a discounted price , it is easier and cheaper than ever for star-gazers to imitate their favorite celebrity and gain some of their pizzaz for themselves.

A Few Clues about Botox Sydney

Botulinum medicine (abbreviated to B.tox) has become ingrained in Sydney society and these days it has become an important part of a beauty routine for those in the city.

But I am always surprised by the variety of urban legends which have developed about the procedure. I have listed below a selection of the myths that we come across all the time at Star Cosmetic Medicine, where I work as a physician.

Fallacy Number 1: The muscles in my forehead might stiffen up!

There are around sixty muscles under the skin of your face. The facial muscles usually perform harmoniously, however over time fine lines may form. When too much B.tox has been employed the facial muscles may become too relaxed. By and large doctors use comparatively minute dosages to will result in you looking less tired, but still you will of course keep your facial expression.

Thus the correct quantity of B.tox in the appropriate site means you can have a reduction in the wrinkles without reducing facial expression.

Visit and take a look at our prime source for Sydney Botox clinics ideas.

Fallacy Number 2: Botulinum is toxic!
Actually there is a grain of truth in this argument. Its scientific name is Botulinum Toxin Type A. Too great a quantity can relax muscles that you do not want loosened or may even make one very ill.

But to put everything into perspective - a famous chemist’s expression is that ‘everything is poisonous - all depending on the dose’. A large amount of any drug can result in sickness. Even water can kill you if you take enough.

Fallacy Number 3: B.tox hurts!
At Star Cosmetic Medicine the doctor will use hypodermic needles finer than human hair. Several individuals have equated the shots to being bitten by mosquitoes. Certainly not in the same league as compared to getting a regular shot.

Fallacy Number 4: I will lose sensation in my face!
Completely false. B.tox acts on the junction between the nerve and the facial muscle, not the nerves of sensation. Just the ability to relax muscles is affected by B.tox injections.

Fallacy Number 5. Once you begin getting B.tox you have to keep going or else you will get worse fine lines and wrinkles than ever!
Once More this is simply untrue.

You can expect the first treatment to last for up to 3 months. Consequent injections tend to last longer. Gradually as muscle strength returns to normal - the lines will eventually reform. But they will certainly be no worse than previously.

In fact any wrinkles should be be softer than if you had never undergone B.tox injections - even should you never repeat the therapy. This, of course is chiefly due to the fact you have given your skin a ‘wrinkle holiday’ during the therapy.

Finding Who You Are with Women’s Human Hair Wigs

Me and my family didn’t think the incredible Caroline Smart, our family friend, would own and wear medical wigs. Her iconic hair was synonymous with her indomitable look. Have you seen her lately? Our favorite gal will be eternally known because of her attitude. Only a handful of souls even care that she confidently masks her medical hair loss under human hair wigs. It’s not so unusual.

Back in the day as young girls in Arizona, we used to stole the spotlights to every dance. Five years later, her women’s hair loss took its toll and she became nearly bald. I recommended some lace front wigs. But you know, it didn’t matter much. The incredible woman took the time and fully owned her innate beauty.

At the school’s rugby game, we taunted the players till a guy on other team clumsily kicked the ball (or however you say it) at us. Quick on her feet, she tried to get it when her head scarf landed in a beer, uncovering her hair (or lack thereof). No big deal, she lobbed it playfully into the goal. What’d I tell ya about her spunk?

However, everyone has insecurities. Months later we got together for a mid-day lemonade chat, where she quietly said that she would rather go bald as a statement. She dare not spend money on women’s medical wigs, even if she wanted her hair back. She then miss invincible stopped talking and requested that I dismiss the notion. I didn’t know what to say.

We got so worried about her. Later on, I called about getting her a new wig. Finally the two of us ended up with the perfect solution: we were going wig shopping! One for me and one for her.

She and I were floored by the fashionable styles. She never imagined that human hair wigs could be this fashionable for people, even superstars. These lace front wigs were exactly what she needed. I arranged a delightfully creative wardrobe to match our wigs. Out of solidarity, but you knew that already. Last Christmas she sent me her thanks for reintroducing, and said it rekindles a new attitude in her life. It’s heartwarming to witness her reclaim her beauty. She’s a better person, with the same confidence.

Right Blusher For The Right Type Of Skin

Gone are the days when women stuck to one color blusher usually pinks or peaches. Now days, blushers come in a whole new variety of colors and different formulations. There are vast array of clever new formulas. The main choices are traditional powder, a cream texture, a modern liquid or a gel finish. So there is certainly one out there to suit your skin type.

Powder blush is the easiest to use. If you prefer this type, choose one that isn’t too sparkly or it’ll enhance your wrinkles. Shimmery blushers are far kinder to mature skin as they diffuse fine lines, making the delicate skin around your cheeks look younger. And as your skin feels drier as you get older, you could also try moisturizing cream formula that gives a flattering sheen to your skin.

All Skin Types

Right type: LIQUID CHEEK STAINS
Reason: They’re excellent for all skin types and face shapes, as you can use a little to achieve a natural flush of color, or layer to build up the shading to an intense hue that will last all through the day.

How to apply: They work best on bare cheeks and need to be applied quickly to avoid mistakes. Apply powder blusher over cheek stains for ultimate staying powder.

Dry or Combination Skin

Right type: CREAM
Reason: Cream blusher is the best if you have dry to combination skin as there’s no powder to sit on your dry patches. Also, the texture helps your skin maintain a natural , luminous glow.
How to apply: It’s easy to apply on bare skin or over foundation. If you have a round face don’t shade apples of your cheek instead apply it on your cheekbones, slanting towards your temples.

Oily Skin

Right type: POWDER
Reason: It’s classic, and perfect for achieving dense color coverage. It’s the best texture for contouring your cheekbones, and is ideal for oily skin as it lies well on your skin’s surface and reduces shine.

How to apply: Sweep on to your cheeks in a croissant shape for a natural - looking flush.

Mature Skin

Right type: GEL OR MOUSSE
Reason: Mousse and gel formulas are great for mature skins and if you want a subtle result. They can be worn alone on bare skin or layered over foundation, before powder, and are less fiddy to use than liquid stains. All mousse formulas offer pretty velvety finish and are really smooth to apply.

How to apply: When putting on gel or mousse blusher, tap it gently on to your cheeks and blend upwards and outwards with your fingertips. But don’t apply it on top of your make- up as you will not be able to blend it.

The Law Of Attraction - What It Is and How to Use It

There is one very important thing you need to know about the mythical Law of Attraction and that is that it is not a myth. Perception is projection, we all have the ability to make choices to change our perception and therefore what we project. What you focus on in your thoughts matters as your subconscious will direct your conscious mind to get that which you think about. If you are convinced that you are going to fail at something you most likely will, you need to focus on ensuring your actions contribute to positive outcomes. The Law of Attraction dictates that your thoughts, words and deeds will attract similar thoughts, words and deeds from those you have contact with, as the Bible states “as you sow, so shall you reap”.

Once you understand The Law of Attraction you can make a conscious effort to radiate positive energy. You should analyze how you treat others and look inwardly to discover your true motivation. Apart from changing your thoughts you can start by smiling more and frowning less, a smile will actually improve your mood as well as that of others. If you find negative emotions re-entering your life then go back and examine your thoughts again, ask yourself questions like “Am I manifesting these emotions into my life with my thoughts?”. Do not be discouraged when you find yourself slipping a little, it’s OK, step back, reflect and refocus your thoughts.

The Law of Attraction fundamentally requires you to recognise your own self worth and have a positive self image. You’ll need to be careful about your thoughts as well as your actions as what you believe about yourself will attract like minded individuals. Spend time in quiet reflection or meditation to enhance the peaceful vibrations you send out. Be at one with the lifeforce of the universe (God or whatever your belief is) for this is the source of real love. Tap into the power of incantations, say your positive self beliefs out lound with emotion, use present tense as if you already possess the qualities you desire. Do not allow yourself to think negative thoughts, you’ll get what you focus on. Ensure that any decisions you make have a self honoring outcome. Keep thinking about the energy you’re projecting, if it’s not the sort of energy you want back then you’d better change it. There are other laws that work in conjunction with The Law of Attraction, The Law of Pure Desire, The Law of Paradoxical Intent and The Law of Harmony.

The Law of Pure Desire requires belief and surrender. Be motivated by love and chase your desires passionately. Incant what you’re hoping for and let your subconscious drive your beliefs. Do not self sabotage by believing yourself unworthy. Visualise your future often and with feeling. Trust that the outcome you desire will come, totally surrender any attachment to it. Be prepared for answers that are not quite what you anticipated but nevertheless achieve the result you were looking for.

The Law of Paradoxical Intent above all requires trust, letting go and knowing that happiness will come to you. Be very clear about your intent and do not allow yourself to be distracted. Be calm and relaxed, desperation will not achieve what you want. Your happiness must be measured internally, not by external factors. Be thankful for what you have and do not concern yourself with what you have not. You cannot control the future, revel in the present and enjoy the journey or fear may get in your way.

The Law of Harmony is about not judging people. Create loving relationships with everyone and everything you come into contact with, the universe will pay you back in kind.
All things in moderation, try and be balanced as to how you spend your time, honor yourself as well as others. Life is not a competition do not live as if it is. Be on the lookout for opportunities to be compassionate, one day you may need it yourself. Be motivated by love to serve, guilt has no place in attracting light. Seek unity with your fellow human beings.

Will you choose to focus on beauty, peace, happiness, and love, or to dwell on the faults of others or the world? It’s up to you. Remember your subconscious mind does not know the difference between your imaginings and reality so your focus can become your destiny. Let your true desire guide your thoughts, let your thoughts guide your words and actions, The Law of Attraction will take care of the rest.

Indoor Tanning Tips And Trends

The process where skin pigmentation is darkened due to exposure to the ultraviolet light rays is known as “Tanning”. The tanning process of skin is generally of two types. One is immediate tanning and the other is delayed tanning. The immediate tanning is caused by the Ultraviolet A (UVA) radiation of sunlight which appears just a short time after the sunbathing and usually lasts only a few hours or days. The delayed tanning is the response to the Ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation of sunlight and usually appears 2-3 days after the sunbathing and lasts longer with the natural renewal of skin. The intensity of the tanning varies as it depends upon the type of skin.

Indoor Tanning Process and Devices

Indoor tanning has become very popular and just like regular tanning should include indoor tanning lotion. A clamshell like tanning bed is used as the tanning salon equipment in most of the tanning bed salons. Customers have to lie down on a plexiglass surface where the tanning bed lamps from above and below reach the customers body. The latest high tech tanning beds are called stand up tanning beds and don’t require a person to lay down on plexiglass.

Most of the older tanning devices used the light sources that emitted short wave Ultraviolet B rays. These UVB radiation actually caused a burning sensation, hence the need for tanning bed lotions. The salon owners began using the tanning beds that emit mostly long wave Ultraviolet A rays from the light sources as the UVB radiation has many harmful effects. The UVA rays cause less burning than the UVB rays.

The harmful side effects of Tanning

The indoor tanning is very much responsible for the damages of our skin because of the emitting of ultraviolet rays. When the skin produces an additional pigment to protect against burning from ultraviolet rays at that time the tanning occurs. Eye injury, skin rashes and even skin cancer might develop due to the overexposure to the UV rays.

The ultra violet radiations from the sun and tanning bed lamps are most widely known to be responsible for skin cancer. UV rays have been known to even damage the immune system causing premature aging or wrinkling of the skin.

Now a day’s public health experts and medical teams are warning people from the dangers of the ultraviolet rays of the sun and tanning bed lamps. The UVB ray is associated with sunburn and is considered a deeper penetrating ray. According to some scientists there may be an association between the UVA radiation and the malignant melanoma which is a very serious type of skin cancer of which case a health care provider may be needed.

Indoor tanning lotion sales have been skyrocketing but with continual warnings from government health officials we could begin to see a trend to the more natural skin color look. The advancement of tanning bed lotions and tanning salon equipment in recent years has made indoor tanning a regular activity for many. You might want to consider the long term effects compared to the short term gains before attempting continual tanning for yourself.

Many people use indoor tanning to better prepare their body for a vacation to a favorite hot spot. This is actually quite smart as it better prepares your body for the increased exposure and can avoid a sun burn that may ruin a perfectly good holiday.

Submitted by Chad McDonald for people needing tanning salon equipment or attempting to locate tanning bed lotions in their area.

Exfoliation And Hair Removal

Exfoliation refers to gently removing dead skin from your body and is typically performed on body parts such as the face, chest, feet or back.

Exfoliation is typically achieved in one of two main ways.

You might use a brush, pumice stone, exfoliating gloves, loofah sponge or other object that can be used on the body to gently remove the dead skin.

Secondly, you might choose to use an exfoliating product such as soap, sea salt, body wash or similar product. Some products have small granules in them that help to loosen and remove the dead skin ie. they provide the exfoliation.

Benefits of exfoliation include the removal of dead skin which can help leave your skin feeling softer and better able to absorb skin moisturizers or other skin products you apply to your body.

Men might notice the benefits of exfoliation on their face since removing dead skin should provide for a closer shave.

With regards to hair removal, some hair removal practitioners might suggest using a moisturizer to help exfoliate after the hair removal treatment on the treated area.

With laser or light-based hair removal, up to one month after treatment you might find dead hair becoming visible above the skin and gently exfoliating with a loofah or cloth can help to exfoliate further.

After laser or light-based treatment, the skin might be temporarily and slightly irritated and as dead hairs are falling out, small razor bump-type might appear so exfoliating might help to reduce the bumps following treatment.

Before exfoliating after hair removal treatment, it’s best to check with your practitioner to ensure you don’t end up irritating your skin especially if your skin is already a bit red from the treatment.

Temporary and permanent hair removal technology is evolving constantly and is relevant to both men and women who want to remove unwanted hair.

Why We Should Go to the Beach More When We are Old

Hair loss at any time in life can be disconcerting! Although you could lose your hair for many reasons, aging is usually one of the most predominant. As you get older, your hair color is probably one of the most obvious signs of aging. The color in your hair is caused by a pigment called melanin, which is actually produced by the hair follicle. As you get older, the follicle produces less melanin. Hair loss as a result of aging rarely ends as baldness but it is not unheard of. Some people actually get graying hair in their early 30’s, but this varies widely. As a rule, it usually begins at the temples and extends to the top of the scalp. There are literally thousands of hair loss remedies on the market to treat this problem.

Hair progressively gets lighter and eventually turns white. About 40% of the population usually have some gray scalp hair by the time they turn to their early 40s. Facial and body hair also turn gray but usually later than the scalp does. Some people, as they grow older, do not have a lot of hair loss and simply have thinning hair.

The hair in the chest, armpit, and pubic area may gray less or not all. Preventing hair loss can be difficult as you get older and graying is usually genetically determined. Asian people tend to turn gray later in life than Caucasians. Unfortunately, there are no vitamins or supplements or other products that will stop or decrease the graying of hair. The amount of hair that you have on your body and head is determined by your genetic makeup. Hair loss solutions are plentiful but next to having a hair transplant there’s not a lot you can do about genetic hair loss. About 25% of men begin to show signs of baldness by the time they are 30 years old and about two thirds are either bald or have a balding pattern by the time they reach the age of 60. Learning about hair loss prevention is a good start to keeping your hair as long as possible.

Latest Technological Acne Remedies

The good thing about human development is that man, through technological advancement, has always striven to find solutions to his numerous problems. The prevalence of some diseases that have defied all forms of treatment has always being a major concern for medical science. Acne can be said to be one of such conditions. Though, acne is obviously not a terminal disease (i.e. it does not lead to death), but the social implications of the condition have accorded it a place in the list of diseases that require continuous research to unravel the best and most effective treatment.

It would not be surprising, therefore, that new technological measures are constantly being invented to deal with a condition like acne. Some of the treatment options that will be discussed in this article fall within the ranks of latest technological remedies. Although, some of these remedies were not specifically invented to deal with acne, they have been shown to be effective in treating acne and scars or other blemishes caused by acne.

Radio Frequency Treatment: This treatment alternative has been described as the non-surgical approach to ‘facelift.’ It aims to achieve the same goal as a surgical facelift without the surgery. It was specifically intended to treat winkles but has been shown to be effective in treating acne scars. This procedure employs the use of radio frequency energy to strengthen and reorganize the collagen fibers of the skin.

The major advantage of this procedure is that there is a very minimal recovery time. The mild swelling that results from the treatment only lasts for about 3-7 days. Amazingly, you can expect to start seeing results from the first month and the proponents of this treatment claim that the benefits of this procedure can last for as long as five to ten years after treatment.

Laser Resurfacing: This is another new technological alternative and is believed to be effective in getting rid of acne, blemishes or scars in the face that have resulted from acne. As the name implies, this procedure ‘burnout’ or ‘vaporizes’ the outer skin layer enabling the skin to grow another layer/surface without those ’scary’ scars. This procedure is also employed in treating winkles. There are two types of laser used in this procedure and they are CO2 and N-Lite. The former (CO2) is the stronger of the two.

The CO2 laser burns out the outer skin and also cause the collagen fibers of skin to become thicker. Apparently, this procedure can cause a lot of discomfort and it takes the skin about 5-14 days to heal from the injury caused. Local anesthesia is often administered to reduce the discomfort. However, as would be expected, this method promises better improvement and results compared to the other laser method.

The N-lite laser, unlike the CO2 does not ‘burnout’ or ‘vaporize’ the outer skin, so there is no injury to the skin. It works by stimulating the production of the collagen fibers in the skin. However, as would be expected, the results from this procedure would not be as dramatic as with the CO2 laser.

Light Therapy: This approach may not be as effective as the other two discussed above, because the underlying principle is different. Light therapy is based on the assumption that the bacteria responsible for acne breakout are sensitive to light in the blue wavelength of light spectrum. So, the treatment consists of shining blue light on the patient’s skin for about fifteen minutes twice a week for a couple of weeks. Although, not all patients have seen positive improvements with this treatment option, its major plus is that there is virtually no side effect with this procedure, since blue light has no effect on the skin.

Chemical Peeling: This procedure follows the same principle of removal or ‘burning-out’ the outer skin layer and thus can be used to treat acne and the scars or blemishes that result from acne. But unlike the laser approach, this option involves the use of chemicals to peel or remove the outer skin. However, this approach may not be as effective and several peels may be needed to achieve any considerable success. TCA and phenol are the main chemicals usually employed in this regard. The major minus of this option is that most people are sensitive to phenol. This chemical can also cause fatal heart irregularities or kidney damage, if large amount gets to the bloodstream.

On a final note, it is important to state that most of these treatment alternatives are new technologies; enough studies have not been carried out on their effectiveness and the presence or lack of severe adverse effects. The price of most of the procedures is another thing to be considered. It is therefore, very important to seek expert medical advice before opting for any of these alternatives.
